These Are The Businesses Mooresville Wishes Would Come Back

Dozens of Mooresville residents let us know which businesses they miss and wish would come back to the town.

MOORESVILLE, NC β€” With the hustle and bustle of growing Lake Norman towns, Mooresville has seen many businesses come and go, varying in success, and some moving elsewhere.

There are some businesses that Mooresville residents deeply miss. We asked readers businesses they wished they could bring back, no matter how long ago they were from. More than 60 comments came in as readers shared names of their favorite businesses of years past. From recently closed businesses to those popular years or decades ago, readers shared a variety of businesses.

Some businesses received multiple mentions. One of the top mentions was Laney's Fish Camp, which closed in 2013 after more than 50 years in business. Bob's Grill was also mentioned frequently. "I miss it very much," wrote Denise Freeze. "Me too," replied Diane Hubbard.

The owner of Bob's Grill, Bob Atwell, died in 2015, and was considered an icon in Mooresville.

Recently closed, Eatabowl was mentioned several times. The restaurant was very successful and often packed to the brim, but citizens say the rent at its location downtown became too high. The proprietor is expected to introduce a new concept, with many locals hoping it's just like Eatabowl.
