The cancellation is due to the increasing COVID-19 and its variant cases in our area, along with the projected rise in cases over the next several months. The City of Avon Lake has transitioned back into COVID-19 protocols regarding mask wearing and maintaining appropriate distances.

In the early planning stages of our annual event it was determined that this would be an all or nothing event. Due to the nature of the exhibits and materials presented, COVID protocols make this difficult to execute. Education is the primary objective of Big Trucks with the focus being on young children and older adults. These populations are most vulnerable to the virus and we cannot support a large gathering at this time.

This decision was made with the health and well-being of the residents of Avon Lake, the community we serve, and the employees who work during and up to Big Trucks. Difficult decisions are made to keep everyone safe and healthy while eliminating unnecessary exposure.

We look forward to working with the community to eliminate viral spread and returning to our normal event next year.

Big Trucks is scheduled for September 17th, 2022 and we look forward to seeing you then!
