From Dobama Theatre: Dobama Theatre proudly announces the eighth season of the Dobama Emerging Actors Program(DEAP). DEAP is a summer acting intensive for high school students and college undergraduates, featuring technique-based courses paired with a production. Lara Mielcarek directs this summer’s production of THE ODYSSEY, a modern retelling of the epic poem by Homer, based on the translation by Robert Fitzgerald.

This dramatic adaptation of Homer's myth tells the story of the hero Odysseus and his ten-year struggle
to get home to his wife and son after the Trojan War, including his encounters with characters such as
Circe, the Cyclops, Poseidon, Calypso, the Sirens, and others.

This year’s DEAP Ensemble includes: Ari Bailey, Jayla N. Dismukes, Sydney Fieseler, Natalie Friel,
Colin Frothingham, Robbi Latrice Fryer, Ruby Gibson, Ren J. Harris, Hannah Kulawiak, Aysha Massie,
Rose Scalish, Maria Guardino Schreiner, Mary Sikorovsky, Casey Wilcox, and De’Aja Wilson.
