Hillsboro Jobs: Bank of America Closing Office, Laying Off 102

Bank says it's part of a reorganization.

More than 100 Bank of America employees in Hillsboro are losing their jobs.

The layoffs, first reported by The Oregonian, are part of reorganization of their mortgage practices.

The employees all work in the bank's consumer lending office on NW Evergreen Parkway in Hillsboro.

They were notified last week that their jobs would be eliminated by September and that they would be offered severance and transition assistance.

The bank told the paper that they have some 200 offices around the country similar to Hillsboro's but that Hillsboro is the only being closed.
