Coast Guard Rescues Fishermen

Three had been stranded on a jetty.

Three fishermen who had wandered too far out on a jetty at the mouth of the Columbia River had to be rescued by the Coast Guard.

A helicopter unit from Warrenton and two ships from Ilwaco were involved in the operation, which occurred around 4PM Thursday.

The fishermen were lifted by the helicopter. The ships were there in case the men ended up in the water.
