Stories is a monthly digital publication for all North Clackamas School District families, staff, and stakeholders. Sharing our own stories and listening to the stories of others are simple yet powerful acts that can help bridge distance and difference, and unite people around a common purpose. Our goal is to showcase the outstanding students, staff, and community members that make North Clackamas such an amazing place to live, work, and learn, by focusing on our Classrooms, Colleagues, and Community. As Tumalad progressed through her K-12 U.S. education, she didn’t have many teachers that looked like her, understood her on a cultural or racial identity level, or affirmed her in the way she needed. That’s what drives her to make sure every student in her classroom feels welcome and authentically seen, is free to express themselves, and knows that she believes in them. This is one of the reasons why she was named the 2022 Oregon Teacher of the Year. READ MORE>>

Due to the pandemic, alumni, former teachers, and community members had to wait an additional year to see the finished product up close and personal. So when more than 250 of them finally gathered for the official ribbon-cutting ceremony on Oct. 8, the result was a jubilant celebration overflowing with school spirit and Mustang pride. READ MORE>>

Native American land acknowledgments come from indigenous traditions as a way to show respect for indigenous and native peoples and serve to recognize their enduring and continuing relationship as stewards of land that was theirs from time immemorial. READ MORE>>
