In Oregon City, 74 percent of 9th graders were on track to graduate on time, which means they had taken enough credits to be on that track. Statewide, that number is the same: only 74 percent.

The statewide average there is of particular concern to educators because less than half of students who miss that benchmark freshman year go on to graduate.

Meanwhile, 89 percent of 12th graders graduated on time, above the statewide average of 83 percent.
