PORTLAND, OREGON: This July, the Kelly Johnson Foundation is excited to host the 2nd Annual Portland Pickleball Open to be held on Saturday, July 27th, 2024.

This local pickleball tournament is set to be hosted annually as an exciting addition to the various sporting events that the Kelly Johnson Foundation, a non-profit organization that aims to give back to schools and communities while encouraging individual’s goals and passions, is proud to organize. The event will be held at Sellwood Park, 7987 Southeast Grand Avenue, Portland, Oregon 97202.

The event will showcase adult divisions, including Men’s Doubles, Women’s Doubles, and Mixed Doubles, as well as a youth division, the Junior’s Singles Open. Awards will be presented to winning players in each division. New for 2024, the event has added Singles Divisions for the adult men’s players. Those who are interested in the event may participate as a player, volunteer, or sponsor.

All players will gain free entry into our sponsor prize drawings. We are proud to announce our 2024 sponsors: Adidas, Camellia Grove Kombucha PDX, Court Couture, Glow Beauty, Run Gum, Ghia, and Diadem Sports, our official ball sponsor. Special thanks to Daily Crunch and Jigsaw Health for providing refreshments for players and spectators in attendance.

Our organization and tournament founder, Kelly Johnson, expressed her excitement by sharing her ambitions in hosting the event. She says, “This is our second year of fun on the pickleball courts of Portland! With multiple divisions catering to players of all ages and skill levels, the tournament aims to promote inclusivity and inspire the next generation of athletes.”

The 2nd Annual Portland Pickleball Open is made possible through the generous support of sponsors and volunteers who share the foundation's commitment to promoting community in sport and fostering a love for pickleball. Their contributions help create an unforgettable experience for participants and spectators alike.

The entry fee to participate as a player is $50 per Team ($25 per player). All proceeds will go towards the Johnson Family Scholarship for high school seniors.
