PARADISE TOWNSHIP, PA — Eight people were hospitalized Sunday after a man who police say was DUI crashed into a horse and buggy in Lancaster County, according to sources citing Pennsylvania State Police.

A 27-year-old West Chester man is facing DUI charges in connection with the crash, which happened shortly after 4 p.m. in Paradise Township.

James Walkergoutal is facing a felony charge of aggravated assault by vehicle while DUI, among other charges, according to court documents.

ABC27 reported Walkergoutal was driving a Toyota Prius when it collided with the rear of the horse and buggy. Eight people, including a five-month-old, were injured and transported to Lancaster General Hospital, the report said.

The crash victims are in stable condition, according to FOX29.

Walkergoutal was arraigned Monday. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 29.
