Democrats Win All 5 Wissahickon School Board Seats

Democrats won huge victories across the county and state, and in the local area as well.

AMBLER, PA — Democrats have won convincing victories in the Wissahickon School Board race, winning all five open seats by large margins.

Fifteen of the district's 21 precincts had reported as of late Tuesday night, and even though those tallies included mail-in ballots, the Democratic lead is far too large to be overcome.

Polls have closed, and results are coming in for the Wissahickon School Board and several other local races. Check back with Patch throughout the night as results tallies and other updates are provided.

The presidential election is a year away, but the results of Tuesday night's local races in the Norristown area and across Pennsylvania will play a key role in the state's future. They'll also important insight into the political landscape of a swing state that could determine the balance of power in the executive and legislative branches next fall.

Results will be considered unofficial until all votes, including those cast via mail and in ballot drop boxes, have been counted.

With an increase in voting by mail, official results likely won't be available for a few days.

Five Republicans and five Democrats will vie for five open spots on the Wissahickon School Board.
