Adoptions From The Heart Announces One Mile Walk Event

New free event taking place in April open to the public

Adoptions From The Heart has announced a new event that will take place on April 27 and 28, 2024. The event will involve a one mile walk that is open to the public. The event is free to attend, but AFTH encourages donations of $10 from individuals and $25 from families.

There will be eight pop-up locations hosting the event. Each location will correspond to a different AFTH office. Each location will have snacks and water for those participating in the event. There will also be prizes available!

In the past, AFTH has hosted a 5k walk for the adoption community. This year, the 5k has been changed to a one mile walk. The walk is meant to maximize the sense of community among those attending. Both people associated with adoption and people not associated with adoption are welcome to attend.

AFTH is hoping to bring people together with this event. Many of the parks that are hosting it include playgrounds, in the hopes that families can mingle while their children play. For people who cannot attend but still want to donate, the No Sweat Club allows them to do that.

About Adoptions From The Heart:

Adoptions From The Heart (AFTH) was founded in 1985 by Maxine Chalker, social worker and fellow adoptee. Like many children born and placed for adoption during the 1950s, Maxine grew up with little information about her birth parents. It was Maxine’s dream to give adoption a new face by breaking down the barriers and taking some of the mystery out of the adoption process. AFTH is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide a safe, loving home for children and offer comprehensive, high-quality services to adoptive families, birth parents, and children. The agency is licensed in PA, NJ, DE, CT, VA, and NY.
