Jazz Guitarist Julian Lage Playing Ardmore Show This Month

ARDMORE, PA — Jazz guitarist and composed Julian Lage is headed to the Main Line later this month.

Lage is scheduled to play at Ardmore Music Hall Thursday, March 21, in support of his new album, "Speak To Me."

Entry to the show is 7:15 p.m., and the show is slated to being at 8 p.m.

"Throughout my life, I’ve always responded to music that has a narrative quality to it," Lage said, explaining that he sees his recent compositions as less a departure than an extension of originals from previous albums, notably his 2021 Blue Note debut Squint. "I believe there is a kind of connective tissue that music has, and it’s important, and it’s fun to cultivate."

The new album features a "wide range of American music and delights in the deliberate crossing of wires between gospel hymn and rural blues, California singer-songwriter sunshine, and skronky jazz."
