Lanes On City Avenue Closing 24/7 For Two Weeks In Lower Merion

Work on a pedestrian bridge for St. Joseph's University will force lane closures on City Avenue for two weeks, PennDOT said.

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA — City Avenue will have a permanent lane closure for two weeks in Lower Merion and Philadelphia for bridge construction.

According to PennDOT, City Avenue/U.S. 1 will have a left lane closure in both directions from Monday, Nov. 27 through Friday, Dec. 8.

The closures will be in place 24 hours a day, seven days a week through Dec. 8.

PennDOT said the affected portion of road is between Cardinal Avenue and Lapsley Lane.

The work is part of a project to build a pedestrian bridge for St. Joseph's University.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because backups and delays will occur.
