Lower Merion Firefighters Rescue Cat From Tree

It's a classic story with a happy ending. Thanks to the firefighters who saved the kitty!

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA – Lower Merion Township firefighters are always busy, but on Thursday, March 8 they had a call that is familiar and unique at the same time.

According to Lower Merion Township, Belmont Hills Fire Company responders headed to the 100 block of Cornell Road in the Bala Cynwyd section Thursday for a cat stuck in a tree.

Firefighters were able to safely get the cat from the tree after it got out during Wednesday's storm and climbed the tree, the township said.

According to the Lower Merion Professional Firefighters Association, the cat was not hurt and is safe with its family now.

Similarly, before Wednesday's storm a cat was stuck in a tree in Middletown Township, Delaware County. That cat was also rescued by firefighters.
