Lower Merion Grad, Ardmore Native, Swim Club Founder Dies At 85

Ardmore native Carole Lynn Keaveney was was an avid tennis player and golfer, plus a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Carole Lynn Keaveney, 85, of Warminster, died peacefully on October 26 surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Francis P. Keaveney. She was born in Pottstown, PA a daughter of the late Robert and Dorothy Stephens and raised in Ardmore, Pennsylvania graduating from Lower Merion High School in 1949. She married her high school sweetheart, Francis "Mike" Keaveney, on June 18, 1951 and they moved to Warminster in 1960. Mrs. Keaveney worked briefly at the Rosemore Card & Gift Shop but devoted her life as a stay at home wife and mother. She was an active and lifelong member of Nativity of our Lord Church. She was a charter member of Hideaway Swim Club and was an avid tennis player and golfer.

She is survived by her daughter, Lynn Knapp; son, James (Barbara) Keaveney and son, Timothy (Kelly) Keaveney. She was the beloved grandmother of Ryan, Tara, Kaitlin, Michael, and J. Maxwell and great grandmother of Aiden James Keaveney. She is also survived by a sister, Joan Bryson. She was preceded in death by her grandson Jackson, and sister Judith Harris.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Wednesday, November 2nd from 9 am to 10 am in Schneider Funeral Home, 431 N. York Rd, Hatboro and to attend her Funeral Mass at 10:30 am in Nativity of Our Lord Church, 605 W. Street Rd, Warminster with Father Joseph Watson and Monsignor O'Donnell officiating. Her interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Conshohocken, PA at 2:45 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 399 Market Street, Suite 102, Philadelphia, PA 19106 or at ALZ.org.
