Lower Merion Sports Practices Can Resume July 6

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA — The Lower Merion School District recently made the decision to allow sports teams to hold voluntary summer practices for fall sports.

According to the district, voluntary practices can begin on July 6.

On June 22, the Lower Merion Board of School Directors approved a Healthy and Safety Plan for Athletics.

Coaches, athletics and activities directors, and student health services staff will be monitoring plan compliance, behaviors and screening results.

Changes to the plan and or to health and safety practices may be made as needed.

The plan was developed in accordance with guidance provided by the Pennsylvania Department of Education and the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletics Association.

Student athletes and their parents and guardians are urged to review the plan before deciding whether to participate in athletics.
