Mill Creek Bridge Reopens In Lower Merion

The bridge has been shut down for years after suffering damage during Hurricane Ida.

LOWER MERION, PA — The Mill Creek Bridge officially reopened with a special ribbon cutting ceremony in Lower Merion Township on Tuesday afternoon.

The bridge is on the 400 to 500 block of Mill Creek in the Gladwyne section.

It was shuttered in 2021 after suffering damage by the floodwaters that swept the region following Hurricane Ida.

All three Montgomery County Commissioners spoke during the event, along with Lower Merion Township Commissioner Scott Zelov. Following the speeches, a parade of vehicles led by Lower Merion Police Department cars crossed the bridge.

The county bridge, known as "Bridge 6," links Montgomery Avenue and Old Gulph Road over Mill Creek.
