The board Monday discussed findings from a start time survey that was launched in February.

Watch that meeting online here.

The new start time proposal has high schoolers starting at 8:40 a.m., elementary students at 9:20 a.m., and middle school students at 8 a.m.

Dismissal times are 3:30 p.m. for high schools, 4:05 p.m. for elementary schools, and 2:50 p.m. for middle schools.

High schoolers and middle schoolers would get 6 hours and 50 minutes of learning time per day, while elementary students would get 6 hours and 45 minutes.

Now, high school begins at 7:30 a.m., middle school at 8:15 a.m., and elementary school at 9 a.m.

Should the board OK the proposed new start times, transportation related to after school clubs, sports, field trips, and other aspects of school logistics could be impacted.
