PHILADELPHIA — Philadelphia has countless places to get food and a drink, but one spot is the best, according to USA Today.

The publication tapped its food writers across the country for their takes on the best bars in the nation.

"When we set out to spotlight the USA TODAY Bars of the Year, we didn't select the places you would find on your average roundup of best bars," the publication wrote. "Our food writers are not just spending a few days passing through a city in search of what it has to offer. They live in the towns they cover. They work there. They drink there."

And Annemarie Dooling chose Bloomsday Cafe for the list.

Located at 414 S. Second St. in Philadelphia, Dooling said Bloomsday "dresses like the hottest wine bar in town" where the staff remembers your name, drink, and where you like to sit.

She touted the Society Hill spot's wine offerings, as well as its take on the classic city wide (which for the unfamiliar is a beer and shot, typically Pabst Blue Ribbon and well whiskey).

"Wine clubs, book clubs, tea parties and a menu of brunch classics keep this wine pub filled with locals year-round," she wrote.
