Rotary Club Of Ardmore Enters 100th Year Of Community Service

Members of the community who are interested in volunteering and giving back are invited to join the Rotary Club of Ardmore.

ARDMORE, PA — The Rotary Club of Ardmore officially entered it Centennial Year on July 1, marking 100 years of service to the Lower Main Line Community, regional entities and international projects.

The Centennial Year Co-Presidents, Merion Fire Company of Ardmore Chief Tom Hayden and Attorney Fred Fromhold, who were sworn in on June 27, both have an wide-ranging history of community involvement and engagement.

Hayden is chief of the Merion Fire Company in Ardmore, as well as a volunteer with the Gladwyne Fire Company. And while volunteering, he also finds time to run his printing company, Hayden Printing in Ardmore.

Fromhold, a partner in the law firm of Fromhold Jaffe Adams & Jun, has been closely involved with many projects in and around the Main Line for many years, always working with his clients to do what is best for the community.

The Co-Presidents were sworn in and will replace Reverend Carolyn Cavaness, Pastor of the Bethel AME Church in Ardmore, who has led the club for the past year on many successful projects.

To mark the Centennial Year, Ardmore Rotary plans to make a substantial contribution to the Lower Main Line Community. Discussions are underway to determine exactly what that will be.

To mark the 75th Anniversary Year, the club restored the Clevenger fountain in front of the Ardmore Library, the only piece of monumental sculpture in Lower Merion Township.

The club is inviting people from the community who are interested in volunteering and being a part of this milestone year and beyond to contact Hayden at [email protected].

Ardmore Rotary meets each week on Thursdays at 12:15 p.m. at a local, convenient location.
