BALA CYNWYD, PA — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.

This submission comes from Elizabeth Johanna Folgia who nominated Mia of Narberth-Bala Cynwyd.

How do you know the star local student?

I am her teacher!

Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?

Mia is in my kindergarten class. She can always be found listening to her teacher and peers. She is a constant example of our BARK reminders to... Be safe...Accountable...Respectful and Kind. Mia is always willing to help a peer and will be found ALWAYS doing the right thing even if no one is looking. She is a great student by working hard and showing persistence and grit. She is a "Shining Star" for sure!

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?

Mia just makes everyone around her feel good. She is so sweet and kind. She models good behavior and shows if you try new things and don't "get it" the first time you keep trying and eventually YOU CAN DO IT!!!!

Congratulations on your achievements, and all of our best wishes to you in the future,Mia Kindergarten Belmont Hills!
