Bensalem Detective To Appear On 'Law And Order: SVU'

BENSALEM, PA — A Bensalem Police detective will be working a case purely for your entertainment.

Detective Chris McMullin, of the department's criminal investigations division, will play a principal roll as a FDNY captain on an episode of NBC's "Law & Order: SVU" airing on April 8.

McMullin, who has been acting for most of the past two decades, will appear in Episode 10 of the long-running show's 22nd season. It is titled, "Welcome to the Pedo Motel."

According to his biography on IMDB, McMullin started acting in 1998, after being asked to appear in a domestic-violence training video produced by the Bucks County District Attorney's Office. While on set, the bio says, the video's director encouraged McMullin to pursue acting and he started taking acting lessons in Philadelphia and New York.

Since then, he has racked up three dozen acting credits according to IMDB, usually playing a police officer in productions including "Limitless," which starred Bradley Cooper and Anna Friel, and HBO's "The Wire."

He also has appeared in his capacity as a Bensalem detective on reality and news-magazine shows including "American Detective" and "On the Case With Paula Zahn."

"Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" premiered on Sept. 20, 1999.

The crime-drama series portrays life in the New York City Police Department's 16th Precinct and currently stars Mariska Hargitay, Kelli Giddish, Ice-T and Peter Scanavino.
