HATBORO, PA —While Vice President Kamala Harris has quadrupled the political cookie sales of President Joseph Biden in her first showing, she got clobbered by former President Donald Trump.

Lochel's Bakery, which has sold its popular political cookies since 2012, recently rolled out "blue" cookies for Harris now that she is on top of the Democratic ticket.

But despite Harris stomping on the campaign trail, she was stomped by Trump.

The bakery reported that its cookie tally showed Trump leading in cookie sales with 1,085 to 41 cookies for Harris. Biden had only 12 cookies sold.

While that sugar rush may have Harris surging somewhat over Biden's sales, the bakery will be offering more Harris and Trump cookies during the Democratic National Convention from Aug. 15-19.

Patrons reacted to the news on the bakery's Facebook post.

"All these cookie buyers better turn out to vote," one patron said.

Another said, "Your customers seem to be really out of touch."

Lochel's Bakery responded to that post by saying that 30 to 35 percent of the Trump cookies have been shipped reflecting the count.

On Wednesday, another 100 Trump cookies were sent out for shipping.

"We have shipped to over 15 states in the past week and we have seen customers from as far as New Jersey, Maryland, and Delaware coming into the store to pick up cookies so I don't necessarily think that this is a fair judgment on Hatboro but more to the fact that people are noticing the cookies and they think it's fun," Lochel's Bakery said.

The cookies will also be permanently offered as the presidential campaign heads toward the November general election from Sept. 5 through Nov. 5.
