LANSDALE, PA — The National Night Out celebrations planned for Tuesday night have been canceled in Lansdale, officials announced.

"Unfortunately, we have canceled the Lansdale Borough Police Department National Night Out Event due to the weather forecast for this evening," police said in a statement. "We want to thank all our wonderful corporate sponsors who have made generous donations for this event. Lidl US, Rental-World Lansdale, Grocery Outlet, Schmidt Bakery, Herr's, Little's Ice Cream & Water Ice, and Wawa. And thank you to all the vendors who agreed to appear. This event would not be the same without our partners."

The night, which is held locally in municipalities around the country, promotes safety and community-police partnerships.
