Democrats Sweep North Penn School Board Races

Democrats won convincing victories for all five open seats.

LANSDALE, PA — Democrats have won huge victories in the North Penn School Board race, sweeping all five seats up for grabs on the board. The margin of victory for Democrats — the North Penn Neighbors for Progress — was significantly more than in 2019, where the left saw about a 3,000-vote win.

With all 47 of the districts precincts reporting, here are the unofficial results:

About half of the county's 72,000 mail-in ballots have been counted, and Democrats hold the early advantage in the North Penn School Board race. These returns should be taken with a grain of salt, as mail-in ballots tend to largely be from Democratic voters. No in-person tallies are yet available.

Polls are closed and counting is now underway, but no unofficial results have yet been released by the Montgomery County Board of Elections. Early returns should be out momentarily.

"Ballots cast in-person are not counted until they are delivered to the Voter Services Office in Norristown after polls close at 8 p.m.," elections officials shared. "Ballots are received from polling locations throughout the County."

The presidential election is a year away, but the results of Tuesday night's local races in the Norristown area and across Pennsylvania will play a key role in the state's future. They'll also important insight into the political landscape of a swing state that could determine the balance of power in the executive and legislative branches next fall.

Results will be considered unofficial until all votes, including those cast via mail and in ballot drop boxes, have been counted.

With an increase in voting by mail, official results likely won't be available for a few days.
