Maria Excels On And Off The Field In Broomall: Patch Star Students

We all know students who excel in academic, fine arts or volunteer service. Here's one local resident who is having an impact in Broomall.

BROOMALL, PA — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.

Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?

Maria is graduating from Marple Newtown High School as an honor student, a member of High Q team, participated in Model UN along, and placed sixth this year at Young Businesses leaders in Hershey. She plays a large role in STEM and serves as president for Honor Society. She was the field hockey goalie for Marple varsity, a four-year starter. This year for the first time in school a goalie was on first teams all Delco & Central League goalie. Her stats are outstanding.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?

Maria is very respected amongst here peers and teachers. She is very active in her school and Greek community, receiving various honors and awards. She volunteers in and out of her community. She played a major role in collecting over 1500 children's books to be donated to the local shelters and pajamas.
