2 Men Sought For Assault At New Jersey Family Reunion

Witnesses said the men arrived at the residence and assaulted guests of the party with a knife and brandished a handgun.

READINGTON, NJ — Police in New Jersey are looking for two New York men who assaulted several guests attending a family reunion on Saturday in Hunterdon County, New Jersey.

The attack happened on Saturday, July 27 at about 1:46 p.m. at a home on Emmons Road in Readington Township.

Witnesses allege that Richard B. Gonzalez (32) and Ryan S. Gonzalez (32), both of Staten Island, N.Y., arrived at the residence and assaulted guests of the party with a knife and brandished a handgun.

Both men fled the scene before police arrived in a gray Honda Accord with New York license plates, said police.

Victims of the assault received medical treatment at the scene but refused transport to the hospital.

Richard B. Gonzalez was charged with one count of second-degree aggravated assault and one count of third-degree terroristic threats. Ryan S. Gonzalez was charged with one count of second-degree aggravated assault, one count of third-degree terroristic threats, two counts of third-degree aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and one count of second-degree criminal
possession of a weapon.

Second-degree charges may result in criminal penalties including, but not limited to, a term of
imprisonment between five and ten years and a fine not to exceed $150,000. Third-degree charges may result in criminal penalties including, but not limited to, a term of imprisonment between three and five years and a fine not to exceed $15,000.

Both suspects are still at large, and police are attempting to locate them.
