NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — The Capital Grille officially opened its doors on Monday with a ribbon cutting at the Village at Newtown Shopping Center.

The new high-end steakhouse known for its dry-aged steaks, fresh seafood and world-class wine lists, began serving customers at its brand new 200-seat restaurant on Eagle Road.

“It’s good to be home,” said Warrington native and Central Bucks graduate Michael Callahan, the managing partner of the new restaurant. “We are super excited about the opening today and we are looking forward to having our dining rooms full and delivering memorable experiences.”

The arrival of Capital Grille in Bucks County is not only a feather in the cap of Newtown, but also Bucks County. This is the Capital Grille’s first restaurant in the county and the fourth in Pennsylania, said Callahan.

“There’s lots of demand for a higher end steakhouse. That’s why we’re here,” said Callahan. “Each location is tailor made for the area. Parsipany is going to be different than Newtown, but we serve the same great food.”

To celebrate its opening, Callahan joined his executive chef in presenting a check for $10,000 to the United Way of Bucks County. They then joined leaders of the Bucks County business community, including representative from the Lower Bucks Chamber of Commerce and the Newtown Business Association, in cutting a ceremonial ribbon on the new restaurant.

“It’s absolutely amazing to have a dining experience at this level come to Bucks County,” said Paul Bencivengo, the COO of Visit Bucks County. “Not only is this restaurant a job creator it’s an economic impact generator and absolutely raises the profile of the dining scene that’s already on lead level in Bucks County. There are great restaurants throughout the entire county, but now having The Capital Grille in Newtown is sure to bring visitors in from New Jersey and from the
Northeast part of Philadelphia and surrounding areas. To bring those dollars here is a huge win for us.

Bencivengo added, “For all of us who live here we know it’s a great place to live, work, play and dine. This is another stamp of approval for Bucks County that they chose this location. That is an incredible feather in the hat of Bucks County, which all of us know is a great place. All the, locals know it’s a great place. The word is getting out and we hope to see more businesses come here.”

The chamber's executive director William J. Ferrara joined other representatives from the chamber in welcoming the Capital Grille to Bucks County.

“This is a very prestigious and very notable operation. For the Capital Grille to come to Newtown illustrates the value that our community has and is recognized pretty broadly,” said Chi Chi Ahia, the incoming board chairman at the Lower Bucks Chamber of Commerce. "It’s very exciting.

“And the place they’ve created here is outstanding. We just got a tour. They have done a beautiful job. The meeting rooms are spectacular,” Ahia said, adding that he looks forward to taking advantage of them.

“We have a lot of great restaurants, but this is special and it’s different. It’s another option. It’s the city brought home to the suburbs,” said Ahia.

Welcoming guests at the entrance to the new restaurant are the establishment’s iconic lion statues, a signature symbol of excellence and elegance at Capital Grille locations around the nation.

The new restaurant spans 8,562 square feet, including a lounge and three private rooms for events. The main dining room features the restaurant's signature Eagle, its clocks of the world and open kitchen.

The Capital Grille is best known for its expertly prepared steaks dry aged in-house for 18 to 24 days, a process that achieves incomparable flavor and tenderness.

According to Callahan, steaks are hand-carved daily by the restaurant’s butcher, with selections including dry aged bone-in NY strip; Porcini rubbed bone-in ribeye with 15-year aged balsamic; and sliced filet mignon with cipollini onions, wild mushrooms and fig essence, among
others.

The restaurant is also popular for its blend of menu classics and twists on appetizers and sides, artfully prepared using impeccable ingredients. Signature dishes include pan-fried calamari with hot cherry peppers; lobster mac ‘n’ cheese; and lobster and crab cakes.

Dedicated to culinary excellence throughout its menu, a skilled pastry chef prepares desserts each morning from scratch, such as The Capital Grille Cheesecake, served brûlée style, and Coconut Cream Pie.

“We also have a great wine list,” said Callahan, noting that the restaurant pours from a Wine Spectator-recognized list of more than 350 selections, housed in a floor-to-ceiling, temperature-controlled wine cellar holding more than 3,000 bottles.

Guests may also choose from 30 wines rarely offered by the glass, including library vintages and highly sought after limited bottlings.
