Montco Machete Assault Suspect In Custody
One man was left with severe injuries after the attack. U.S. Marshals are leading the manhunt.
Update: Gomery is now in custody.
BRIDGEPORT, PA — U.S. Marshals continue the search for the man who they said severely injured another man during an assault with a machete in Bridgeport.
The incident occurred back on Aug. 27 at around 12:15 p.m. on the 200 block of New Church Road.

Edward Gomery, 56, is wanted on numerous charges, including aggravated assault.
The pair had a "brief interaction" leading up to the attack. Gomery knew his victim, though the exact cause of the dispute is not known, police said.

When police arrived, both had fled the scene, though the victim was located nearby about 15 minutes later. He had serious injuries to his head and neck, police said, though he has since been released from the hospital.
Authorities said Gomery is "known to frequent" Norristown.
He is 5 feet, 11 inches tall and about 210 pounds.
