RADNOR TOWNSHIP, PA — Radnor Township has opened a cooling center for residents during the intense heat bearing down on the Philadelphia region.

The cooling center is located in the Radnor Township Municipal Building.

It is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Extreme heat, which can last several days, can make daily tasks difficult for the elderly, children, those who work outside and our pets.

Officials remind residents to take breaks when working outside, stay hydrated, and be sure to check your back seat before leaving your car.

Residents are also asked to check in on neighbors, especially the elderly and sick.

To stay safe amid the intense heat, limit outdoor activity, wear sunscreen, and know the symptoms of heat stroke or exhaustion.

Call 911 if someone is experiencing a heat-related medical emergency.
