BRYN MAWR, PA — A large police presence in Bryn Mawr Thursday night was the result of a man shooting himself, according to authorities and a news report.

At about 5:10 p.m. Thursday, Radnor Township Police alerted the public to a large police presence on the 700 block of Haverford Road.

Police were in the area while responding to a self-inflicted shooting, Main Line Media News reports.

The man is reportedly in "guarded" condition and expected to survive, according to the outlet.

Radnor authorities said there was no threat to the public during the incident and that Haverford Road was closed between Bryn Mawr Avenue and Landover Road.
