NSA Leaker Has Upper Macungie Link

The father of NSA leaker Edward Snowden -- who according to published reports resides in Upper Macungie -- told ABC News he is concerned for his son's safety.

Lonnie Snowden, who according to The Morning Call and lehighvalleylive.com, lives in Upper Macungie with his wife, told ABC News he last saw his son months ago when they had dinner.

Edward Snowden, 29, who is said to have taken refuge in Hong Kong, identified himself to news organizations Sunday as the man who leaked news of the National Security Agency's vast surveillance programs.

According to Reuters, Edward Snowden said he acted out of conscience to protect people's basic liberties.

It was not immediately known if Edward Snowden spent any time in Upper Macungie.

Ellicott City Patch in Maryland reported that he grew up in Elizabeth City, N.C., but then moved to a house near Fort Meade, MD, when he was a teenager, according to The Guardian. The report said he is still listed in public records as a resident of a house in the 7700 block of Mayfield Circle, MD, which is near Meadowridge Road in Ellicott City, MD.
