Southern Lehigh Stages '42nd Street'

Kicking off spring 'Freddy' awards season, Southern Lehigh presents a classic musical about love, loss, and show biz.

This week, Southern Lehigh students will sing to the rafters with their rendition of the classic musical "42nd Street."

The musical, about a young chorus girl from Allentown trying to make her way on Broadway, is one of the first spring musicals of the season, and the first spring contender for the regional Freddy Awards. This year, 28 schools will participate in the Freddy Awards. Bangor Area High School also opens its musical this weekend with "Annie." Southern Lehigh School District performed "Annie" during the 2011 Freddy Awards season.

Performances are at 7:30pm Thursday through Sunday, with a matinee show at 2pm Sunday. Email [email protected] for additional ticket information.
