Chesco's Devlin Trying Out For Cleveland Browns

Former record-setting quarterback for Downington East gets another NFL shot.

Pat Devlin, the Downington East quarterback who rewrote the state high school record book in a career that went through 2006, has earned another tryout with an NFL team.

Devlin will work out for the Cleveland Browns Thursday, ESPN reporter Adam Caplansaid on Twitter Wednesday. According to Pro Football Talk, the Browns are looking for a quarterback on a temporary basis due to an elbow injury to Johnny Manziel, who will miss the team’s next preseason game.

The 27-year-old Devlin, following his high school success, played college football for both Penn State and the University of Delaware. And while Devlin has never played in a regular season NFL game, he’s been on the practice squad or roster of several clubs throughout the last several years, including the Miami Dolphins, Minnesota Vikings and Chicago Bears.
