WEST CHESTER, PA — Authorities in Chester County are warning residents about an increase in E-ZPass scams that claim additional tolls and fees are owed.

The scams come through text and are designed to steal your personal information, according to the Chester County Sheriff's Office.

"We've noticed an outstanding toll amount of $12.51 on your record. To avoid a late fee of $50.00, visit (a site with a URL similar to My Turnpike Toll Services) to settle your balance."
