Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued In Chesco, 60 MPH Winds Possible

A severe thunderstorm warning is in place in Bucks, Chester and Montgomery counties, the National Weather Service said.

A severe thunderstorm warning is in place in Bucks, Chester and Montgomery counties, the National Weather Service said. The warning is in place through 4:30 p.m.

The National Weather Service said at 3:47 p.m., a severe thunderstorm was located over Pughtown — 16 miles north of West Chester. The storm, which has wind gusts of up to 60 mph, is moving northeast at 30 mph.

"Damage to roofs, siding, trees, and power lines is possible," the National Weather Service said.

Forecasters warn that the locations impacted include Norristown, Pottstown, Phoenixville, Lansdale, West Norriton, East Norriton, Quakertown, Perkasie, Doylestown, Souderton, Bedminster, Collegeville, Royersford, Chalfont, Trappe, Hatfield, Dublin, Schwenksville, Green Lane, and Fricks.

Drivers on the following highways should be aware of the warning: Pennsylvania Turnpike between mile markers 313 and 321 and Northeast Extension between mile markers 23 and 43.
