Star Student Athlete: West Chester's Cydney

WEST CHESTER, PA — We all know student athletes who also bring their A-game to other parts of their lives.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. We’re working to let all your neighbors know the individual stories behind the leaderboard.

Cydney was nominated as an outstanding athlete in softball by her coach, relatives and friends, Sammi, Abbey, Gavin, and Addison.

A Boyertown High School graduate, she is a freshman at West Chester University.

“My daughter has overcome many obstacles throughout the years and has not stopped moving forward or has not compromised her focus,” her mother, Cherylanne, said.

“She graduated a year early from high school,” her friend, Sammi added.
