YARDLEY, PA — A new restaurant specializing in New American cuisine with Mediterranean flare will open in Yardley this September.

Nick and Alexander Mastoris, father and son respectively, co-own Nikos Restaurant & Bar together. Nick was previously a shareholder in Mastoris Diner in Bordentown, NJ, which his father ran for decades. But the new spot will be of a different pace, and provides a chance for father and son to call the shots together.

"At the diner it was high volume," Alex told Patch. The new restaurant will focus more on innovation and "passion on a plate."

Alex will be running daily operations and front of house, while Nick will focus on menus and kitchen operations, working with the chef to execute dishes.

"We have a wonderful head chef, Fredrick Price, who will be heading the kitchen," Nick said.

Alex added, "[He's] going to be working on the creativity of plates, and all the plating will look beautiful."

While they haven't released their menu yet, the Mastoris team is excited to mix new dishes with some prior fan favorites.

"We were famous for our classic chicken parm," Alex explained. "We're going to have that there. We're going to have our famous cheesecake and our rice pudding there."

Father and son aren't just excited about Nikos' food, though; they're also advertising "strong drinks."

The fall cocktail menu is currently under research and development with their in-house mixologist, Nelly Fernandez. They anticipate a full bar with craft cocktails for every season going forward.

Nick is excited to see loyal customers and friends in the new spot — and hopes to wow people next spring with an outdoor patio.

"We prepped our bar for outside dining," he said. "We're going to be applying for the permits to build a new patio which will hold about 60-70 people, and our goal is to have that ready for next spring."

The indoor restaurant, which seats 180, is expected to open in late September.

"We hope you can join us for fabulous drinks and superb food at our new venture, Nikos," the Matsoris family wrote online.

Nikos is also currently hiring across all positions, and will be running job fairs later in August. To learn more about jobs, menus, and the restaurant located at 385 Oxford Valley Rd., find them online.
