LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA —Pennsbury School Board President TR Kannan has announced his bid for re-election to the school board.

Kannan announced he will seek a third term as school director in the upcoming non-partisan contest in May.

Kannan was re-elected as school board president at the school district's reorganization meeting last month.

“Pennsbury is a great district and we have made tremendous progress over the last several years, helping students thrive while having a positive impact on our community and property values. I look forward to continuing the progress," Kannan said.

First elected in 2015, TR Kannan won re-election in 2019 winning both the Democratic and Republican primaries.

An executive in the public sector, Kannan has lived in Lower Makefield Township for more than 20 years.

Kannan said his campaign will announce more information including key endorsements in the coming weeks.

Kannan has guided the school board through the recent meeting presenting a study of options for a potential Pennsbury-Morrisville school district merger.
