RI Christmas Tree Lightings 2018

It's a movable feast in Rhode Island, as the season for lighting up the holiday starts Friday, Nov. 23 in Warren.

WARREN, RI—It's that time of year again. Rhode Island cities and towns will light up dozens of trees for the holidays. The season starts off Friday, Nov. 23 in Warren. Head for Massasoit Park , 71 Baker St., Warren, RI 02885, to hear the band at 7:15 p.m. Then join the candlelight procession to the Town Hall, 514 Main St., Warren, RI 02885, for the lighting.

Wickford's 33rd Annual Festival of Lights starts at 6 p.m. in Wickford Village, North Kingstown.

Downtown Providence, City Hall steps, for the Winter Lights Market and City Hall tree lighting, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Providence, Statehouse tree lighting program starts at 5:30 p.m. Gov. Gina Raimondo, First Gentleman Andy Moffit and their kids will light the Christmas Tree at 6:15 p.m.

Dec. 1

Barrington, Barrington Glows, 2 to 5 p.m., Town Hall.

Newport, 48th Annual Bowen's Wharf Tree Lighting starts with Frosty the Snowman at 4:30 p.m. The tree lighting and Santa follow at 6 p.m.

Bristol, Grand Illumination and Tree Lighting starts at 4:45 p.m. at 400 Hope St., 02809.

Downtown Providence, skating rink at 5:30 p.m. for the tree lighting, with Billy Gilman and others.

Dec. 2

Portsmouth, 35th Annual Tree Lighting, starts at 5:30 p.m. at Portsmouth Free Library, 2658 East Main Road, 02871.
