K-Rob, BMX Legend, Mourned In EP, RI
Robinson, who reportedly died of a stroke Saturday, is being remembered in his hometown as a positive influence on young people.
EAST PROVIDENCE, RI—Kevin Robinson, known to BMX fans as K-Rob, has died, according to WJAR-TV and other news outlets. Robinson completed a Guinness world record jump in Kennedy Plaza in 2016. He was retired from competition but still worked as an analyst for ESPN.
Over the years, Patch covered several of his appearances in Rhode Island where he was frequently involved in causes helping youngsters. He went to the Alan Shawn Feinstein Middle School in Coventry to talk to youngsters dealing with the loss of a classmate. He also started the K-Rob Foundation to help underprivileged children connect with others through sports. He built a skate park for the youngsters in East Providence. He stepped up to help save the middle school sports programs when they were hit with budget cuts. And he started a Family Fun Festival at the Looff Carousel in the summers.

Very sad to hear of the passing of East Providence native and BMX legend Kevin Robinson. His philanthropic works and commitment to being a positive role model for youth have, and will continue to grow his legacy far and wide...but never stronger than in his hometown.
