Obituary: Anne R. (Rawlins) Brown, 82, Aide, Sports Fan

BROWN, Anne R. (Rawlins), 82, formerly of Bryant Place, passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at the West View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  She was the beloved wife of 56 years to Rex I. Brown. 

Born in Coventry, she was a daughter of the late Anthony J. Rawlins, Jr. and Jennie (Ottaviano) Rawlins.

Anne worked as an aide for 11 years with the State of Rhode Island before retiring.  A big sports fan, Anne was a lifelong supporter of the West Warwick Steelers and Wizards and loved UConn basketball.  She also enjoyed the beach, camping and playing bingo. 

Besides her husband, she is survived by her loving children, Elizabeth A. Brown of West Warwick, Howard A. Brown of West Warwick, Deborah A. Valliere and her husband Neil Lavoie of West Warwick and Frank A. Brown and his wife Paula of Warwick; a sister, Joan Matteson of West Warwick and 8 grandchildren.  She was the mother-in-law of the late Paul R. Valliere.

Her Funeral will be held Friday at 8:00 am from the IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington St. (Rte.117), Coventry, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am in Christ the King Church, West Warwick.  Interment will follow in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.  Visiting hours Thursday 4-7 pm.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Association, RI Chapter, 245 Waterman St., Suite 306, Providence, RI 02906 would be appreciated.
