Runners 'Belly' Up To Charity Run

Running a round trip from one Fat Belly's to another, participants had to drink beers and eat hot dogs as part of the "race."

The Third Annual Belly to Belly Charity Road Race took place last Saturday, May 19. Perfect weather greeted the runners as they arrived at Fat Belly's Pub on Old Forge Road. This was not your typical road race, however, as each runner was required to eat a hot dog and drink a beer during the race.

The race was won by the team of Issy Nielson and Chris Jasparro, who run for the Tuesday Night Turtles Running Club. Bob Jackman continued his dominance of the the event as he took home the individual title for the third consecutive year. Issy Nielson won the women's title in addition to the team title.

The real winners of the day were the charities that benefitted from all of the very generous donations from the EG community. This year's race allowed the Belly To Belly charity to go over the $10,000 mark for money raised for local charities. Planning is already under way for the Fourth Annual Belly to Belly Charity Race!
