EAST GREENWICH, RI—After several weeks of slow movement in the local residential real estate market, the pace of home sales in East Greenwich picked up a bit last week.

Home sales were strong last week across Rhode Island in general, and the uptick didn't pass by the town as seven homes changed hands last week, according to data from the statewide Multiple Listing Service.

None of the the reported sales for the seven-day period ending April 5 were below $319,000. The highest sale price was $792,000. The numbers are a clear demonstration of the town's desirability and relative exclusivity.
