How Much Violent Crime Happened in East Providence
The FBI has released the 2014 Unified Crime Report which features statistics for crime in East Providence.
The FBI recently released its annual ”Crime in the United States” report, which includes information about East Providence.
According to the report, East Providence saw 52 violent crimes in 2014. Violent crime includes offenses involving force or the threat of force: murder and non-negligent manslaughter, rape, robbery and aggravated assault, according to the FBI.
There were 12 reported rapes, 5 robberies, and 34 aggravated assaults in East Providence.

Other crime stats for East Providence included 491 larcenies, 109 burglaries, forty-nine vehicle thefts, and six cases of arson.
Nationally, violent crime decreased nationally last year by 0.2 percent from 2013, according to the report.
