Thanks to a donation from a generous, anonymous donor, the Potter League for Animals is offering a $5,000 reward in connection with a recent case of animal cruelty. Two dogs, nicknamed Turkey and Gravy, were rescued by Portsmouth Police Thanksgiving morning.

Both animals were suffering from severe neglect and were extremely emaciated. While Gravy is making a recovery and will later be released to the Potter League, Turkey later died.

A Rhode Island man is accused of attacking a police officer with a broken table leg during the January 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol. Timothy Desjardins, 35, was charged with engaging in physical violence in a restricted building or grounds, civil disorder, assaulting, resisting, or impeding certain officers with a dangerous weapon and more.
