Girl Killed In I-95 Crash: RI State Police

RICHMOND, RI — A girl died in a single-car crash Sunday morning on I-95 northbound, according to Rhode Island State Police.

The crash happened around 4:08 a.m. near exit 3 in Richmond. State Police said they found a 2017 Chevrolet Malibu that left the right side of the highway and struck a tree. The vehicle sustained heavy front-end damage.

State Police said the man driving suffered minor injuries, but the girl trapped inside the passenger seat needed to be extricated. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Due to the girl's age, her identity and additional details will not be released. State Police said neither person in the vehicle were Rhode Island residents.
