South Kingstown Man Facing Child Molestation, Sexual Assault Charges

SOUTH KINGSTOWN, RI — A South Kingstown man was arraigned in Washington Superior Court Monday on child molestation and sexual assault charges.

Luke Gedeon, 45, was charged with five counts of first-degree sexual assault, eight counts of second-degree child molestation and one count of first-degree child molestation.

According to Attorney General Peter Neronha's office, the assaults and molestation happened over the course of a decade, spanning from January 2012 to September 2022. Prosecutors said all the incidents happened in South Kingstown.

State prosecutors did not say how many victims there were.

Gedeon has been held without bail at the Rhode Island Adult Correctional Institution in Cranston. He was ordered to remain held without bail and is scheduled to return to court on April 24.
