Records show that Swift bought the Watch Hill mansion for $17.75 million in 2013.

The story of the 11,000 square-foot home, also known as Holiday House, High Watch, and the Harkness House, inspired Swift's 2020 song "The Last Great American Dynasty" off her album "Folklore."

The home was built in 1929-1930 for Pearl Pinkerton McClelland Snowden, whose husband George Grant Snowden died in 1918, according to the Watch Hill Conservancy. The Snodens made their fortune in oil and gas exploration.

In 1948, the home was sold to William Hale Harkness, heir to the Standard Oil Company fortune. Harkness' wife Rebekah Semple West lived at the home, and was known for causing a stir with her neighbors for her bizarre behavior, including cleaning her pool with champagne.

The mansion sits on a 5-acre estate with a private beach. It is known as the setting of Swift's lavish annual Fourth of July parties with her many celebrity friends.

It is unknown whether Swift was home at the time of the Monday trespassing. She is currently on her sixth concert tour — The Eras Tour — which is a tribute to all of her studio albums to date.

Swift's latest album, "Speak Now (Taylor's Version)" was released on Friday.
