Woman Provides Free Reiki Sessions to Cancer Patients

Patch readers told us who the "Everyday Inspirations" in their communities are, and we're sharing their stories and the work they've done locally.

Everyday Inspirations is a series that features people in Patch communities who inspire others through their work, or people who have faced extraordinary situations and grown from them. They have been featured by other people in the community that have been inspired by the nominees.

Name: Cherie Conover
Town: Wakefield, RI

Why is this person an "Everyday Inspiration?"
Cherie owns a Reiki studio in Peace Dale, RI. She hosts a Young Women's Cancer Support Group that is meant to help educate and support young women who have been diagnosed with cancer.

The group is open to all stages and all types of cancer. Cherie brings in speakers and educators to assist the women. She also offers free Reiki sessions to all members of the group. She works very hard at sharing Reiki to all those in the community who need it.

Has the nominee's life been changed in an extraordinary way?

Cherie was sick in the hospital when a volunteer came in and offered her Reiki. She had never heard of Reiki and was very skeptical. The Reiki helped heal her and changed her life. She was compelled to open a Reiki studio to treat and teach the gift of Reiki with others. She offers community events that are free and open to the public in an effort to help others.

How does this person work to make others' lives better?

Always looking for ways to assist others in their healing journeys.
